MB Inc Perak and MPM explore tourism potential at Pulau Giam

By Zaki Salleh

PANGKOR: Pulau Giam, a small island off Pangkor Island, has its own unique attraction not found elsewhere.

Every year, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors who come to witness the rare phenomenon of the sea splitting, as an over 400 meters long sandbank emerges on the island.

This unique phenomenon occurs only once a year, after the sea water in the area has fully receded, which typically happens in mid-February.

Therefore, there is potential if this attraction is developed into a tourist spot, including providing suitable facilities.

Recently, Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc.) conducted a site visit to Pulau Giam to assess the potential for developing the area as a new tourism destination.

This visit is part of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative between MB Inc. and the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM).

It focuses on sustainable tourism development in the Lumut and Pangkor Island areas.

The visit was led by the CEO of MB Inc. Perak, Dato’ Anuar Zainal Abidin, and the President of MPM, Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri, along with officials from both organisations.
