BUKIT GANTANG: A blessing with free fish.
Residents in 31 selected areas within the Bukit Gantang parliamentary constituency can smile as they receive 10 tons of fresh fish.
These fish were provided by the Member of Parliament for Bukit Gantang, Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, to celebrate the new year of 2025.
The areas covered include the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) of Changkat Jering, Kuala Sepetang, and Trong.
According to Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz, 7.5 tons of fish, consisting of lolong and pelaling species, were distributed at 25 locations around the DUN of Changkat Jering and Kuala Sepetang.
“The remaining fish will be distributed tomorrow, January 2, at six locations in DUN Trong,” he said.
Syed Abu Hussin stated that the fresh fish were sourced from local fishermen in several areas such as Kuala Kedah (Kedah), Kuala Perlis (Perlis), Endau (Johor), and Kuantan (Pahang).
He said that this program was specifically designed to help the B40 group, the underprivileged, single mothers, and those in need in the Bukit Gantang parliamentary area.
He hopes that the distribution of free fresh fish will ease the burden of those with low incomes.
