Letter: Maintenance of Areas Left Unattended

By Augustine Basnayake
To the Mayor / Ms. Jenny Choy ADUN Canning / Editor of Ipoh Echo
I have complained many, many times to DMBI through emails like this with photos, and by self presentation at the DMBI Office (No. Ruj. 23855-24).
It seems the DMBI Officers or department prefers to turn a deaf ear to the reports I have made for some reason or another. I sincerely hope that Ipoh Echo, a newspaper that highlights local community care in the media, will publish in full the shameful attitude of DMBI to sincere and earnest reports like mine made over a long period. We the citizens pay our taxes and dues to the DMBI faithfully.
But with such service as leaving the drains in such an unhealthy state, with weeds allowed to become overgrown and left uncut for months, maybe even years, and roads in such bad condition as to make the people look away in complete disgust and frustration of the DMBI.
I am not going to implore and plead for remedial action but will wait and see again the efficiency in reaction to the complaints! Below attached are pictures taken on 3-1-25 after the teams from DMBI were seen cutting grass but not in the reported sections!
