Old Building to Be Transformed into Cultural Hub in Tasek Industrial Area

IPOH: The A2Z Charity Organisation and the Ipoh City Council (MBI) have joined forces to officially launch Art Bloc, a groundbreaking cultural hub in the Tasek Industrial Area. Plans are underway to refurbish an old building in the area, creating a transformative space dedicated to art, culture, and innovation.

Art Bloc will integrate five core elements—art, fashion, food, film, and music—to foster a vibrant environment for cultural exchange and collaboration.
With the tagline “Local Roots, Global Reach,” the initiative aims to provide a platform for artists to showcase their work, spark creativity, and celebrate innovation on both local and international levels.

At the heart of the project is the Art Bloc 100 Artists Legacy Club, an exclusive collective of 100 exceptional artists from Malaysia and around the world.
Representing diverse disciplines such as design, music, and fashion, these artists will contribute unique works for display and sale, with proceeds supporting the continued development of Art Bloc.

President of the A2Z Charity Organisation, Sims Lai, emphasized that Art Bloc goes beyond showcasing world-class creations.
“We are building a legacy that bridges the past, present, and future of artistic expression,” she added.

Looking ahead, Art Bloc is planning an international exhibition themed “All About ART” once the building refurbishment is complete. This event will feature an unprecedented 20,000 works of art, setting a new global benchmark.
The exhibition aims to be the largest in history, drawing global attention and solidifying Malaysia’s position on the international cultural stage.
Currently, the project has opened a tender for architects committed to sustainable development practices, and the cultural hub is expected to open its doors by August 2025.
