By: Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The longstanding ties between Ipoh and its sister city, Fukuoka, are set to strengthen further with the participation of four students in the Bridge Summer Camp 2025 in Japan this July.

The students were selected to represent Ipoh in the international programme, which has been organised since 2001 by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) in collaboration with the Perak State Education Department (JPNP).

The initiative aims to foster cultural exchange and unity among participants from 40 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

The selected students, all aged 11, are from primary schools across Ipoh. They will serve as young ambassadors, representing their city and strengthening international friendships.

Before their departure, the students attended a sharing session with former participants of the programme, hosted by MBI.

Also present were MBI Community Director Romzi Zamri and JPNP representative Wan Mohd. Hazihan Wan Husain.
