IPOH: The Thaipusam celebration provides an opportunity for various groups to engage in charitable acts, including distributing food to the public.
Among those taking part was the Jelapang Rukun Tetangga Club (KRT), which handed out 700 food packs to Hindu devotees at the Gunung Cheroh Kallumalai Sri Subramaniam Temple.
KRT Jelapang chairman S. Thinakaran said food distribution holds significant meaning during Thaipusam.
“In our belief, giving food is a good deed that brings blessings.
“At the same time, this act of kindness also helps those attending the festival,” he said.
Jelapang assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian was also present at the celebration to show his support for the devotees performing their religious observances.
He distributed food packs and extended his well wishes to Hindu devotees observing Thaipusam.
