IPOH – The annual celebration at Om Dewa Sree Mathuraiveeran Alayam Temple in Jelapang was successfully held recently, organized by the Sri Mathuraiveeran Devotees Association.
The event, marking its 36th edition, saw a gathering of approximately 5,000 Hindu devotees from Jelapang and the greater Ipoh area.
A special poojai was conducted at the temple, accompanied by the distribution of free meals, known as ‘annathanam’, to all devotees.
Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN) Cheah Pou Hian contributed RM3,000 to the temple in conjunction with the celebration.
According to Cheah, the donation reflects his commitment to supporting the temple’s annual festivities.
“I will continue to assist this temple, particularly during events and celebrations,” he said.
Also present at the event was Batu Gajah Member of Parliament, V. Sivakumar, who commended the temple committee for successfully organizing the celebration.
Meanwhile, Temple President Thiben Chakravarthu expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to making the event a success.
