Green x Handmade Pop-Up Market At KooKee Ipoh Old Town

By: Nur Nabilah
Something beautiful is blooming in the heart of Ipoh Old Town on the 19th-20th of April from 9.30 AM-4.30 PM at KooKee Ipoh Old Town.
Organized by AM Zakka Store, the Green x Handmade Pop-Up Market isn’t your typical market. It’s a celebration of creativity, sustainability, and soulful second chances.
From preloved treasures that carry stories of the past to upcycled crafts stitched with purpose, every corner of the market invites you to slow down, look closer, and shop with heart.
Best of all, prices are kept affordable, making it easy for both locals and tourists to take home something meaningful be it a unique keepsake or a spark of inspiration.
And as Earth Day approaches, the organizer hopes to inspire everyone, tourists and locals alike to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle through the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Located in Ipoh Old Town, Koo Kee is more than a venue, it’s an experience. Step into a space that has a vibe from the past, present, and future all at once.
A weekend market where visitors can discover locally made crafts and artworks by independent artisans, a time tunnel where a nostalgic mini museum brings back memories of the good old days and Koo Kee Wood Art Space, a charming wood art space showcasing beautiful handcrafted wooden pieces. Make sure to visit them!
AM Zakka store would like to heartily thank Mr. Marc, the kind soul behind Koo Kee, for generously hosting the pop-up. With this first step, they dream of making this a monthly celebration of handmade love.
Each vendor brings a story, a passion, and a purpose. Make sure to visit their booth!
🗡️ Knife Therapy by Perak Wong
What if we told you that knives could heal instead of harm? An ancient Chinese wellness technique, Knife Therapy has been passed down for 2,500 years and now it’s here in Ipoh. Think energy balance, tension release, and surprising tranquility. Brought to you by Perak Wong, who’s been practicing this rare Qigong-based art since 2017.
🧵 RAW Design – Zero Waste, 100% Soul
Former graphic designer turned passionate maker, RAW transforms leftover fabrics into bold, beautiful patchworks for upholstery and décor. Every scrap is saved. Every piece tells a story. Come see and touch the magic of textile upcycling, where boho soul meets eco-conscious craftsmanship.
🌿 Ipoh Refill – Sustainable Living, One Choice at a Time
Founded by eco-entrepreneur Peisee Hwang, Ipoh Refill is Ipoh’s first zero-waste store. From toothpaste tablets, BYO containers and eco bags to refillable household goods, their booth will show you how to reduce your impact one item at a time!
🐘 Why Not Elephants?
Why Not Elephant founded in 2013 by Ipoh crafter Chai Yuen. It offers handmade, elephant-themed goods crafted from locally sourced materials, especially batik. With a focus on sustainability, the brand also creates zero-waste items from fabric scraps turning leftovers into meaningful and eco-friendly designs.
Whether you’re looking for a unique handmade gift, a moment of peace, or simply a way to celebrate Earth Day with intention, join us at Koo Kee this weekend. Let’s make a little change together, with love, creativity, and second chances.
