IPOH: The site of illegal dumping that once polluted the roadside in Kampung Seri Keramat has been transformed.
This change is the result of firm action by the Ipoh City Council (MBI), which has installed warning signs and barrier tape to cordon off the area.
At the very least, this move demonstrates MBI’s commitment to preventing irresponsible dumping at the site.
It is understood that MBI’s cleaning staff had previously cleared the waste that was piled up in the area, which had become an eyesore.
In February, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported two piles of illegal rubbish here, clearly visible to anyone passing by.
Such acts clearly stem from individuals taking the easy way out by improperly disposing of household waste.
Beyond the authorities, it is also the responsibility of local residents to act as the eyes and ears in curbing illegal dumping.
To those who often take the easy route by dumping trash by the roadside—learn to be responsible and clean citizens.
