IPOH: Five premises inspected around Meru Raya here successfully received the ‘Clean and Safe’ (BeSS) recognition, and all of them had no smoking signs.
The inspection was carried out under the Perak State-level Clean, Smoke-Free Premises Walkabout Program (BeBAs).
This location marks the 13th stop of the BeBAs program, which has covered 12 states since its launch in February 2024.
During this walkabout session, inspections were conducted at 23 food premises along Jalan Meru Bestari A8 & A9, Meru and its surrounding area.
The BeBAS program in Perak involved the participation of two NGOs and eight trader associations and representatives.
Leading the inspection was the Deputy Health Minister, Dato’ Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
Earlier, he also visited the Meru Bus Terminal as part of the Monitoring and Compliance Program under Act 852.
Also present was the State Executive Councilor for Human Resources and Health, A. Sivanesan.
