PAFA focuses on strengthening state football development, nurturing young talent

IPOH: The Perak Football Association (PAFA) respects the decision by XOX Berhad not to field teams in the President’s Cup and Youth Cup, to dissolve Perak FC, and to withdraw from next season’s Super League.

This decision is acknowledged in respect of XOX Berhad’s role as the owner of Perak FC.

PAFA President, Dato’ Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin, expressed gratitude for XOX Berhad’s contributions to the state’s football scene through Perak FC.

He stated that PAFA sympathizes with the situation faced by Perak FC players, especially the younger ones, and will offer assistance within its capabilities.

“PAFA will ensure that football development in every district and across the state of Perak is not affected by this decision.

“Therefore, PAFA will continue to focus on grassroots football development to produce quality players, in line with the mandate given by the state government,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Azhar explained that PAFA is currently preparing for the SUKMA Games 2025/2026, which includes building players’ experience to participate in A1 or A2 Leagues.

“PAFA will also consult and seek guidance from the state government, as well as the FAM, MFL, and AFL, before taking any further action,” he added.
