SAFI, a Malaysian halal beauty brand, announced the return of their Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship Programme with an allocation of up to RM1,000,000 in funding. Now in its second year, the initiative will award outstanding eligible Malaysian female students with financial support of up to RM40,000 each, to pursue higher education in public universities.

The scholarship programme was introduced through SAFI’s Raya film, which premiered on 1 March 2025. The film, which captured the aspirations and struggles of young women, also served to officially launch the application process for this year’s intake.

“Education has the power to transform lives. As Malaysia’s leading halal beauty brand, we believe every young woman should have the opportunity to pursue her dreams,” said Kazlina Mohd Kassim, SAFI Brands and Insights Specialist. “This programme aims to remove the financial, societal, and structural barriers that prevent girls from achieving their full potential.”

Eligible applicants must be Malaysian female students aged 18 to 25, currently enrolled in a public university with a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Applications are open until 30 June 2025 via biasiswasiswisafi.com.my

Unlike many other scholarships, recipients are not contractually bound to SAFI after graduation. Instead, they gain access to career development opportunities, including internships and priority consideration for SAFI’s Management Trainee Programme.

Shortlisted candidates will go through a selection process starting with a video submission, followed by an immersive boot camp designed to assess communication, leadership, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Last year’s programme received over 900 applications, underscoring the significant demand for academic support among Malaysian women.

“The scholarship has relieved my family’s financial burden and allowed me to focus fully on my studies.”, shared Aishah Umairah Binti Ariffin, a 2024 recipient from Universiti Putra Malaysia

To reach more applicants, SAFI will organise on-ground outreach programmes throughout April and May 2025:

  • Two-day roadshows at 5 universities: UiTM Puncak Alam, UKM Bangi, UPM Serdang, UTM Skudai, and UUM Sintok.
  • Single-day roving events at 15 campuses nationwide from the Klang Valley to Perlis and Sabah.
  • SAFI Raya Roadshow at IOI City Mall Putrajaya featuring scholarship info booths, product showcases, and giveaways.
