IPOH: Around 50 teachers from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJKC) Gunong Rapat and SJKC Min Sin were celebrated during the McDonald’s Malaysia 2025 Teachers’ Day Celebration at McDonald’s Jalan Gopeng here.

The program reflects McDonald’s ongoing commitment to recognizing educators within both large and small communities.

Restaurant General Manager of McDonald’s Jalan Gopeng, Nor Amira Nor Azami, said they were honored to welcome the teachers.

She noted that the celebration is part of McDonald’s Malaysia’s Teachers’ Day campaign.

“Throughout the month of May, we are celebrating teachers from over 300 schools nationwide.

“As a sign of appreciation and our commitment to the local community, participating McDonald’s restaurants are proactively reaching out to nearby schools to host appreciation events and honor educators.

“This campaign has been ongoing since 2017, and this year marks the ninth consecutive year we are recognizing the contributions of educators like yourselves,” she said.

During the program, McDonald’s Malaysia presented a donation cheque of RM5,000 to the two schools involved.

Nor Amira handed over the mock cheques to SJKC Gunong Rapat’s headmistress, Woo Yee Ching, and SJKC Min Sin’s headmaster, Choong Yien Keong.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s Malaysia Managing Director and Local Operating Partner, Dato’ Haji Azmir Jaafar, stated in a statement that educators play a vital role in shaping young minds and nurturing future leaders.

“Today’s celebration is our way of acknowledging their tireless dedication and showing that their efforts truly matter — not just to their students, but to the wider community as well,” he said.
