The Perak Information Network Service Organisation (PINSO) organized a free medical camp at the Guntong Village multipurpose public hall in Buntong recently.
The organization invited the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, M. Kulasegaran, and the Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly for Buntong, Thulsi Manogaran, as special guests. Meanwhile, the event was officiated by the Health, Human Resources, and Indian Community Affairs, Sivanesan A/L Achalingam.
“Congratulations on the initiative undertaken by PINSO. It was well organized, and I am happy to note the good turnout,” said Thulsi.
The medical camp has provided many services such as
- Blood Pressure Screening
- Diabetes and Cholesterol Screening
- Obesity and BMI Screening
- O&G Specialist and Oncology Services
- Surgical Specialist Services
- Blood and Organ Donation Campaign
- Ophthalmology Services
- Self-breast Examination by the National Population and Family Development Board (NPFDB)
- Psychiatric Services, Mental Health Screening, and Psychological Counseling
- Pharmacy Advice / Medicine Counseling and Health Education on Proper Medication Use
- Dietetic Advice on Healthy Eating and Lifestyle
- Cardiology and General Medicine Palliative Services
- Specialist Dental Services by the Mobile Dental Team
- Health Exhibition
- Tuberculosis Screening Service
- Physiotherapy and Consultation
- PERKESO and Information Department Booths
Notably, 5 blood pressure monitors and 20 glucose reading machines were used for blood pressure and diabetes/cholesterol screenings, respectively.
The medical camp received a warm welcome from the Buntong community, with more than 210 people participating in the event.
To encourage community involvement, a lucky draw was held with prizes awarded to 20 attendees. The winners received their gifts from Thulsi at the end of the event.
The success of the camp reflected strong community support for accessible healthcare and highlighted PINSO’s ongoing commitment to public health initiatives.
