IPOH: Ceiling repairs and upgrading works at the Harmoni Flats in Buntong will begin soon, involving an allocation of RM1.3 million.
The Ipoh City Council (MBI) stated that the maintenance and repair works will cover Blocks 1 to 10 and Blocks 21 to 26.
This initiative is expected to resolve the issue of damaged ceilings, particularly on the upper floors of the flats, which are frequently infested by pigeons.
“MBI has received an allocation of RM1.3 million from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) under the Housing Maintenance Program (PPP).
“This allocation will be used for ceiling repairs and public facility restoration, including upgrades to corridor lighting wiring, sub-main systems, and related works in the housing area,” the statement read.
Earlier, 137 residents of the flats attended an engagement session held on Saturday, coordinated by MBI’s Facility Management Department.
Also present were Buntong State Assembly Member Thulsi Thivani, MBI council members Lawrence and Kalimuthu, as well as MBI staff.
MBI noted that residents were briefed on the project’s implementation.
“The session also gave residents the opportunity to voice their views and feedback directly to MBI and local representatives.
“The discussions provided clarity to all residents regarding the project.
“The repair works are expected to improve safety, comfort, and cleanliness in the housing area, while also enhancing the overall image of Ipoh,” the statement added.
