LUMUT: Previously, stagnant water after rain along the main road in front of Taman Alamanda, Teluk Senangin, had been a recurring concern for residents.
The situation posed a hazard to road users and vehicles, especially at night, and even led to several accidents due to the water accumulation.
However, the issue gained attention from Pangkor State Assemblywoman Norhaslinda Zakaria, who conducted a site visit to assess the problem.
Following her inspection, she raised the matter at the District Development Action Committee (JTPD) meeting.
According to Norhaslinda, investigations by the responsible parties revealed that one of the causes was a landslip affecting the structure of a sewage pond owned by Indah Water Sdn. Bhd.
“Overflow from the pond caused water to accumulate and remain on the main road for extended periods.
“Following complaints, immediate action involving all relevant parties will be taken.
“I would like to thank the Manjung District Public Works Department (JKR) and the Perak State JKR for their prompt response to this issue, as well as all those involved,” she said.
