IPOH: Two workers from the Perak Public Works Department (JKR) were left stranded on a skylift crane while carrying out tree-cutting work along Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab earlier today.
According to Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the two male victims, aged 33 and 38, were stuck at an estimated height of 40 feet after the skylift crane malfunctioned.
He said the emergency call was received at 1:04 PM, and 13 personnel from the Ipoh and Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Stations were dispatched to the scene.
“They were trapped while cutting trees in the area. When the fire department arrived, the victims were still on the skylift and could not come down.
“The fire team used an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) to bring the victims down.
“The victims were unharmed and were handed over to their company supervisor for further action,” he said on Sunday.
