TELUK INTAN: Firefighters assisted in relocating a teenage boy with disabilities (OKU) and his mother after floods struck Kampung Melayu, Langkap here last night.
Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said four houses were affected by the flood, which hit the area at around 9:36 p.m.
“The water level was estimated to be about 0.1 meters. During a monitoring operation, a family requested assistance to be relocated due to water entering their home.
“Personnel from the Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station, along with the Village Chief, evacuated the victims — a disabled teenage boy and his mother — to Dewan Arena Kampung Attaduri, Langkap.
“The mother and son were transported using the EMRS vehicle. Afterwards, firefighters continued monitoring the location and found that the water was beginning to recede,” he said in a statement here today.
