JCI Ipoh’s 520 Charity Event Ran Without A Hitch

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ipoh’s “520.3 Charity Horse Riding” event, which was held on 17 May at Iskandar Polo Club, was successfully carried out without a hitch. Over 50 children of various ethnic backgrounds from two orphanages were invited to experience the joy of horse riding and other activities.

JCI Ipoh 2025 President, Ms. Wong Li Hwa, said that the “520 Charity Event” is one of the chapter’s flagship projects.

First launched in 2023, this year marks its third edition.

She stated that the event also aimed to encourage more youth to join JCI Ipoh, by showcasing their contributions to society.

“We’re delighted to have more than six youths, aged between 20 and 30, volunteering and participating in this 520.3 Charity Horse-Riding.”

The event was officiated by Mr. Ng Zhen Yee, a representative from the main sponsor YEG “Young Eagle Generation”.

Ms.Wong Li Hwa emphasized that JCI Ipoh upholds the spirit of “Business for Good”, using business as a force for charity, and aims to pass on this spirit while encouraging more youth to join and support those in need.

The event, which was held at the Iskandar Polo Club, was attended by about 70 people, including generous donors and sponsors.

Organising Chairlady Ms. Yip Ying Ying said that it was the first time the children from the two orphanages experienced horse riding, feeding, and bathing the horses. There were also animals from QT PET for the children to interact with, making it a joyful and heartwarming day.
