Firefighters rescue young girl locked inside car

KUALA KANGSAR: A one-year-old girl was successfully rescued after being accidentally locked inside a car near Sekolah Kebangsaan Setia Jaya, Enggor, earlier today.

Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said personnel from the Sungai Siput Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received a distress call about the incident at 8:57 a.m.

“The fire engine arrived at the scene at 9:11 a.m. and found a 1-year-6-month-old girl trapped inside a Perodua Axia vehicle.

“Firefighters, in full protective gear, used special tools to unlock the car.

“The child was safely rescued without any injuries and handed over to her mother,” he said in a statement here today.
