IPOH: The public is urging the local authorities to take immediate action to repair a stretch of damaged road along Jalan Stadium Perak, near the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) building, citing worsening conditions and safety concerns.
Regular road user Zaid Azman, 55, said the uneven surface and multiple potholes have made driving difficult and pose a danger, especially to motorcyclists.
“The road condition has been deteriorating day by day. I once saw a motorcyclist almost lose control while exiting the junction near the SSM building, particularly during rainy weather,” he said.
Zaid added that the situation worsens whenever it rains, as water collects in the potholes and obscures them.
“Pooled water makes it difficult for drivers to avoid the potholes. This can damage vehicles and, worse, lead to accidents,” he said.
He urged the authorities to inspect the area and carry out resurfacing work immediately to prevent further incidents.
“There are also damaged spots along the adjacent stretch that require attention. I hope the relevant authorities will look into this matter seriously for the safety of all road users,” he added.
