Ipoh, Perak – The spirit of health and community was alive and well this Sunday morning as over 300 participants gathered at the iconic Polo Ground for the Walk Against Obesity 3.0, a public initiative aimed at raising awareness on obesity and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Jointly organised for the third consecutive year by Hospital Fatimah and MMA Perak, the event continues to gain momentum as a flagship community health campaign. This year’s walk covered approximately 3 kilometres (two rounds of Polo Ground) and brought together people of all ages in a show of solidarity in the fight against obesity.
The walk was officially flagged off by Hospital Fatimah’s Medical Director, Dr Liaw Kok Toon and COO, Ms. Poh Bee Kuan, together with Secretary of MMA Perak, Dr Nagenthren Ragunathan and the Organising Chairman, Dr Satkunan Mark, setting the tone for a morning filled with health-focused activities and family-friendly fun.
Participants also benefited from a variety of free health screenings conducted by nurses from Hospital Fatimah, including BMI assessments, blood pressure checks, and glucose testing. Beyond the walk and health screenings, attendees enjoyed engaging stage games, game stalls, and a lucky draw, adding excitement and energy to the event.
Hospital Fatimah and MMA Perak extend their heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and partners who made the Walk Against Obesity 3.0 a resounding success.
Together, let’s walk towards a healthier future.
