LENGGONG: The Perak government will finalise its decision on the sale of electronic cigarettes or vape after the upcoming State Executive Council (MMK) meeting on May 28.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the State Health Executive Council is conducting a comprehensive study in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
He said the views of traders, parents, educators, and the Perak Mufti Department would also be considered during the policy evaluation process.
“If the outcome points to greater benefits in enforcing a ban, then we will choose what is best for the people.
“I do not wish to make a unilateral decision, as this matter will be deliberated in the State Executive Council meeting,” he told reporters.
He was speaking after officiating the Lenggong Valley Motorclub at Dataran Tasik Raban here on Friday.
Previously, the states of Perlis and Terengganu had already imposed a ban on vape sales, while several other states are currently mulling the same move.
