IPOH: Lenggong is set to roar back into action as it prepares to host Rimba Raid X Lenggong 2025, attracting 280 off-road riders from 15 countries in what is expected to be a major highlight in the international motorsports calendar.

The media launch of the event was held at Hard Rock Cafe Ipoh and officiated by Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, who said the organisers’ decision to return to Lenggong reflects the area’s growing reputation as a global adventure destination.

“Hosting Rimba Raid for the second time shows that Lenggong is not only recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also as an emerging international venue for extreme motorsports,” he said in his speech.

This edition will also mark Rimba Raid’s 10th anniversary, a milestone that underscores the event’s strong presence and steady growth within Malaysia’s off-road racing scene.

Loh added that the event would bring significant economic benefits to the local community – from homestay operators and small food vendors to logistics providers and service personnel.

“Young people from Lenggong are also involved as race crew and forest marshals. This is not just a seasonal job, but an opportunity for learning, exposure, and personal development,” he said.

Rimba Raid 2025 will feature six racing categories, including – for the first time – a class for electric motorcycles (E-bike), in line with global trends towards sustainable mobility.

Participating countries include Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Taiwan, India, Sweden, and Singapore, highlighting the international appeal and rising profile of the event.

Loh also praised the organisers for their continued commitment to environmental conservation, adding that all race activities are conducted by strict ecological guidelines.

“Lenggong is strong, its youth are capable, and our forests are protected – this is the spirit we want to uphold as we sustainably develop tourism and sports,” he said.
