IPOH – The beauty of Islamic calligraphy is set to be one of the attractions at the Mosque Open Day programme at the Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque here tomorrow.
The one-day programme will be held from 9am to 10pm.
The National Art Gallery Ipoh Branch will set up a Calligraphy Art Booth to introduce the uniqueness and aesthetic value of Islamic calligraphy.
The programme will also showcase the creativity of calligraphy through artwork displays and sharing sessions with an invited artist.
The invited artist, Muhammad Alfi Syahmi Mohammad Sofian, will share his expertise and experience in the art form.
The booth will provide visitors with an opportunity to learn more about calligraphy in a relaxed and interactive setting.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to appreciate Islamic visual art as part of the community’s heritage and creativity.
The activity is expected to enhance public appreciation of local calligraphy art.
Members of the public, particularly art enthusiasts, are encouraged to attend and enliven the event.
The programme also serves as a platform to promote greater interest in calligraphy and strengthen appreciation of Islamic visual art in Malaysia.
