IPOH: Kampung Telaga Nenas in the Manjung District has emerged as the champion of the 2024 Perak State Prosperous Village Award (Anugerah Desa Sejahtera Negeri Perak).


The village received a trophy and a cash prize of RM10,000, channelled to its Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK).
The runner-up title went to Kampung Protan in the Kerian District, while third place was awarded to Kampung Ulu Kuang in the Kinta District.


Both villages received trophies and cash prizes of RM8,000 and RM6,000, respectively, credited to their JPKK accounts.
The Perak State Prosperous Village Competition 2024 is part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening and empowering rural communities in Perak.
Its primary objective is to promote awareness and encourage best governance practices among traditional villages across the state.


Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, officiated the award presentation during the Anugerah Desa Sejahtera and Anugerah Sejati MADANI Negeri Perak 2024 ceremony held recently at the Banquet Hall, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
At the same event, Saarani also presented the Anugerah Sejati MADANI Negeri Perak 2024 awards.


The grand winner of the Anugerah Sejati MADANI 2024 was Kampung Jaya Setia from the Kuala Kangsar District, receiving a trophy and a project infrastructure allocation worth RM100,000.
Second place went to Kampung Sempeneh in the Larut, Matang and Selama District, which received a trophy and an allocation of RM70,000.
Meanwhile, Kampung Telaga Nenas in Manjung also secured third place, bringing home a trophy and an infrastructure project allocation of RM50,000.
