Man lost during recreation at Bukit Larut found safe

TAIPING: A man who was reported missing during a group recreational activity at the Bukit Larut Resort Centre has been found safe by rescue teams on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Muhamad Firdaus Rozaini Ahmad Shukri, 30, was located at Shelter 3, about 4 kilometers from the base of Bukit Larut.

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of Operations at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), firefighters from the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station received a distress call about the incident at 2:48 PM.

“The victim went missing during a group recreational activity at the 7 km point with 11 others.

“His disappearance was noticed by his wife, as before the incident, he had mentioned he needed to use the restroom and went off alone. However, he never returned, and had been missing since 10 AM,” he said on Sunday.

Following this, firefighters launched a search operation in the area where the victim was last reported missing and successfully found him safe.

The victim was later handed over to the police for further action.
