IPOH: A total of five factories were destroyed in a fire that broke out early this morning at Jalan Perindustrian 8, Taman Song Choon, Simpang Pulai.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said the incident occurred around 1:44 a.m. today.
A total of 53 personnel from the Simpang Pulai, Pasir Puteh, Ipoh, and Gopeng Fire and Rescue Stations, along with volunteer firefighters from Pekan Baru and Menglembu, rushed to the scene.
The fire involved five Class B factory lots — three factories processing prayer items, one chemical paint processing factory, and one herbal tea processing factory.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and the operation was brought under control by 4:10 a.m.
