Disappointed by donors’ lack of consideration

TANJUNG MALIM: The irresponsible actions of certain individuals donating used clothing to the Learning and Recycling Sorting Centre at Taman Bandar here have drawn criticism.

According to the centre’s coordinator, Habibah Yaakob, some people are still sending in clothing without packaging or placing them in plastic bags.

Instead, they simply toss or pile the clothes carelessly.

“I’m disappointed with the attitude of a few members of the public who seem to feel no sense of responsibility.

“They don’t package the clothes properly—some even leave them strewn on the floor. I end up having to pack and sort each item myself,” she lamented.

She also called on the public to be more considerate and responsible when donating items to the centre, for the sake of the volunteers’ well-being and the cleanliness of the area.

“I truly welcome donations, but please cooperate. Wrap or place the clothing neatly in plastic bags before delivering them,” she added.

The centre serves as a collection and sorting hub for reusable items such as clothing, paper, plastic, and electrical goods.

These items are then repurposed for those in need and used in community education activities.
