Over 100 participants explored the Old Town area of Ipoh last Sunday, in the Junior Chambers International (JCI) Kinta’s “Kinta Food Hero 2.0” event.

Participants came not only from Ipoh and Perak, but across state lines like Penang and Klang, to explore and enjoy the local delicacies that Ipoh has to offer.

Prior to the flag off, YB Goh See Hua, who was the guest of honor, shared some banter with the crowd, before presenting prizes to the first 2 lucky draw winners of the day.

Flagging off at 10 am, teams of participants visited the participating vendors, such as VNest Concept Cafe, Snackiss, Paloh Confectionery, BerryC, Ban Choon Dong Tea Court and Ho Yan Hor Museum; where they partook in events, such as answering short quizzes or simply enjoying a brief historical tour, before being awarded with a scrumptious serving from the vendor’s menu.

The event was closed by Councilor Wong Kar Keat, who presented the various prizes to the winners of the event, such as a Premium Tea Package worth RM450, and the grand prize of RM1000.

The event was made possible thanks to supporting partners, KBSMalaysia, Rakan Muda, Pusat Khidmat ADUN Kepayang & Ahli Majlis MBI and Tourism Perak, as well as sponsorship by Epro Electrical, the venue sponsor Chang Jiang White Coffee and the various vendors who wish to enrich Ipoh’s food and tourism scene.

The Kinta Food Hero 2.0 is a flagship program of JCI Kinta, where this year’s iteration was organised and led by their organising chairman, Jeff Lim and and deputy chairlady Catherine Chan. Those interested in learning more about JCI Kinta, may contact local president Irvin Ho at 012-5613188.
