TAIPING: The repair and upgrading works at Kamunting Market were completed two months ahead of schedule, showcasing the government’s efficiency and its strong commitment to improving public facilities for the well-being of the people.
The success of the project is credited to close monitoring and proactive measures since its approval by the Minister of Local Government Development, Nga Kor Ming, several months ago.

The project was carried out with an allocation of RM500,000.
“As soon as the project was approved, I instructed my team to conduct site visits every few days to monitor and supervise each stage of the work.
“The goal was to ensure smooth implementation and strict adherence to the specified standards,” said Taiping Member of Parliament, Wong Kah Woh.
Wong, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, praised the Taiping Municipal Council for the successful execution of the project, citing satisfaction with the quality and standard of the work.

Kamunting Market now features a fresher and more modern look, replacing its previously outdated and poorly maintained appearance.
He noted that traders at the market welcomed the transformation, especially as the long-standing issue of roof leakage was finally resolved.
“Next, we will focus on the Simpang Baru Market project. Our principle is clear — to continue working wholeheartedly. This is the spirit of the MADANI Government,” he added.
