Ipoh- If you’re looking to spice up your regular breakfast routine, make your way to Kare-Kare Cafe@TSe at the Medan Selera Tambun and try the much-talked-about Mee Kari Udang Terlajaks, a dish that once went viral for all the right reasons.
Prepared using an authentic traditional Chinese recipe, this signature noodle dish is served with a dry curry sambal made from a time-honoured family recipe – and yes, the aroma alone is enough to whet anyone’s appetite.

The stall opens every Friday and Saturday, from 6.30 am to 12.00 pm, exclusively for breakfast.
Aside from the Mee Kari Udang, diners may also opt for the equally popular Mee Kicap as an alternative.
One loyal customer, Azam Hamid, 45, said the highlight of the dish lies in its large and fresh prawns, combined with fish cake, egg and vegetables, giving it a rich and full-bodied flavour unlike any other mee kari in Ipoh.
“I like it because the gravy is thicker and the dry curry sambal enhances the taste.
People should give this a try — it’s nothing like the usual. Once you try it, you’ll definitely come back for more,” he said.
The Mee Kari Udang Terlajak is priced at RM9, while the Mee Kicap is also available for RM9.
If you’re planning to give it a go, it’s best to come early as the dishes are prepared in limited quantities each day.
Go on and give it a try — you won’t regret it!
