IPOH: Police are conducting an investigation into an incident involving a woman who suddenly trespassed onto the main stage during the Perak state-level National Day Celebration held this morning.

According to Perak Police Chief, CP Dato’ Noor Hisam bin Nordin, the incident occurred at around 8:20 a.m. while the Perak State Anthem was being played.
“The suspect, a 41-year-old local woman, reportedly accessed the stage from the side and attempted to approach His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Sultan of Perak before she was successfully stopped and detained by security personnel on duty.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to the police station for further action,” he said in a media statement today.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman has a prior record related to drug cases and also has a history of psychiatric treatment and is currently under specialist supervision.
However, a urine screening test conducted on the suspect returned a negative result.
The case is being investigated under Sections 325/511 of the Penal Code for attempted grievous hurt.
Police also advised the public to always respect official state ceremonies and refrain from any actions that could disrupt public order and safety.
