IPOH: For more than 10 years, the house located at 52, Persiaran Cempaka Sari 24, Taman Cempaka has been abandoned and left unoccupied.
However, the issue is not just the abandonment — the house is overrun with thick undergrowth, both inside and spilling out to the outside, posing a risk to nearby residents.
One complainant stated that residents have submitted multiple reports to the Ipoh City Council (MBI) regarding the matter but claim that no action has been taken to locate the owner or clean up the property.
According to the complainant, the problems include the possibility of the house becoming a nesting site for snakes, as well as posing a dengue threat due to mosquito breeding.
“The last complaint to MBI was made in August. Even before that, several complaints were submitted, but we have yet to receive any response.
“Residents here are very concerned about the risk of venomous animals. The thick bushes also obstruct the view for vehicles entering and exiting the lane.
“We, as residents, urge MBI to take immediate action by cleaning up the property or locating the owner to prevent this issue from continuing,” they told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
