KAMPAR — A total of 60 pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sahom were thrilled to take part in hands-on mechatronics demonstrations conducted by Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering students from Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) today.
The MechCare Protege programme brought together 20 lecturers and 10 diploma students, offering interactive exposure to the world of mechatronics through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)-based learning activities.

Among the highlights were an introduction to mechatronics, basic drone control, Arduino kit applications, and an interactive quiz that captured the pupils’ excitement.
Programme director Ts. Wan Hasbullah Wan Mohamed said the initiative aimed to spark early interest in TVET while introducing future career opportunities in mechatronics engineering to young learners.
“This programme is also part of a community outreach effort to bridge the education gap for rural pupils. We are grateful for the warm welcome and enthusiastic participation shown by the SK Sahom community throughout the event,” he said.
Wan Hasbullah also extended his appreciation to SK Sahom headmistress Norlia Abdul Wahab and the teaching staff for their support in ensuring the programme’s success.
