SUNGAI SIPUT: Perak Agrofest 2025 recorded an impressive turnout with over 250,000 visitors as of midday on Sunday.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said he believes the number will reach the previously set target of 400,000 visitors before the event ends at midnight.
He added that the three-day programme, which began on September 26, successfully generated sales revenue amounting to RM2.5 million.
“The sales projection for this Agrofest was targeted at RM4 million, and as of this afternoon, it has already reached RM2.5 million.
“I see that many visitors are still coming continuously, possibly until late tonight, and there will be a Rahmah Sale, which means the sales target of RM4 million will be achieved,” he said.
He made these remarks after officiating the closing ceremony of Perak Agrofest 2025 at the Ladang Infoternak in Sungai Siput here today.
Also present was the Chairman of the Perak State Committee for Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun.

He also acknowledged that this year’s Agrofest could be considered the best edition yet, especially in terms of promotion and participation.
“I have previously served as the Agriculture Exco and organizing chairman, and I can confirm that to date, this is indeed the best in terms of organization, promotion, and youth participation.
“We can see many people coming in droves; I myself am excited by the large turnout.
“There have also been requests to hold the event every year instead of every two years, but this is not possible because we alternate with the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agrotourism Show (MAHA), which will be held next year. That means Agrofest will only return in 2027,” he said.
When asked about proposals to hold Perak Agrofest at other locations besides Sungai Siput, he explained that it had previously been held at the Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) in Gopeng but the venue was unsuitable.
“We once held Agrofest at RTC Gopeng, but the space was insufficient. Moreover, Ladang Infoternak is fully equipped with everything, and parking is easy,” he added.
At the closing ceremony, replica cheques were also presented to recipients, including those under the 2025 Food Security Strengthening Programme: a programme to optimise land use in collaboration with the State Government under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
Other recipients included the 2025 High-Value Pineapple Crop Strengthening Project by the Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board (LPNM) Perak and the 2025 Pineapple Night Farming Project Grant by LPNM Perak.
