Faded Road Markings: Repainting needed for Student Safety

By Aida Aziz

IPOH:Ipoh residents are urging the authorities to repaint the faded road markings along Jalan Chung Thye Phin.

In addition, it is understood that many warning signs in the area near the school have been damaged and are in need of repair.

“The road markings, especially in front of SMJK Ave Maria Convent, have faded.

We request the relevant authorities to repaint the faded road lines along Jalan Chung Thye Phin for the safety of students and road users,” a resident told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.

The resident added that among the signs needing repair are those indicating ‘traffic lights ahead’, ‘school children crossing ahead’,and ‘speed bump ahead’.

If possible, they also request that the ‘school children crossing ahead’ sign be replaced with a new version featuring amber LED lights to ensure students’ safety when crossing.

Amber LEDs are light emitters that produce yellow or orange light.

They are commonly used as warning or signal lights for slow-moving vehicles, road works, or industrial machinery.
