IPOH — The Perak State Government has expressed its appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for presenting Budget 2026, which focuses on protecting the people’s welfare while maintaining fiscal discipline and driving future economic growth.
The approach taken by the Federal Government aligns with the aspirations of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan — Prosperous Perak, Thriving People — which emphasizes a balance between economic prosperity and social well-being.
In a statement today, the Office of the Perak Menteri Besar stated that the Budget reflects the Federal Government’s concerns through direct aid for citizens, empowerment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), investments in workforce upskilling, a commitment to a green transition, and the strengthening of the digital sector.
“The empowerment of TVET and provision of investment incentives are seen as continued efforts to strengthen investor and industry confidence, while assisting citizens facing rising living costs,” the statement said.
The State Government also welcomed allocations that directly benefit Perak’s development, particularly the Perak Halal Industrial Park (HIP), which serves as a catalyst for the halal ecosystem and agro-food value chain, as well as the floating school project for Orang Asli children in Hulu Perak, and the upgrading of tahfiz and pondok schools nationwide, including those in Perak.
Perak further lauded the allocation of the Ecological Fiscal Transfer (EFT) to states for biodiversity conservation, noting that the fiscal instrument will support the state’s efforts to balance environmental preservation with sustainable economic development.
At the same time, the Federal Government’s emphasis on workforce upskilling — including gig workers — as well as internal security and socioeconomic resilience, will accelerate Perak’s TVET agenda, job mobility among youth, and employability in key growth areas such as Tanjong Malim, Manjung–Lumut, Kerian, and Kinta.
In line with Budget 2026, the Perak State Government will coordinate fast-track facilitation to attract new investments and expand local enterprise capacity in the halal, logistics, green energy, and high-value manufacturing sectors.
It will also intensify TVET programmes and expand industry collaboration with GLCs, universities, and training centres to leverage Federal upskilling funds, optimise EFT grants for community-based conservation and ecotourism projects, and ensure that public assistance reaches grassroots levels efficiently through stakeholder cooperation.
The statement concluded that Budget 2026 signals a unified economic transformation between the nation and the state, with Perak committed to translating allocations into tangible outcomes — more quality jobs, high-impact investments, a preserved environment, and a better quality of life for its people.
