IPOH  – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has announced the temporary closure of Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Tun Perak, and Jalan Persiaran Kidd beginning October 30, to facilitate repair works on the Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Bridge.

According to MBI, the repair works will take place from October 14, 2025 (Monday) until January 6, 2026 (Tuesday) as part of the council’s continuous maintenance efforts to ensure the bridge structure remains safe, stable, and compliant with current technical standards.

“The full closure is necessary to ensure the safety of road users and to allow the works to be carried out smoothly,” the council said in a statement.

During the closure, motorists are advised to observe warning signs, follow the traffic diversion routes, and comply with instructions from on-site personnel.

Alternative routes will be provided to help reduce congestion in surrounding areas, including Buntong, Silibin, the city centre, Jalan Lahat, and Falim.

MBI assured that all works will be carried out according to schedule and in full compliance with safety measures to prevent any risks to road users.

The public is also encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and stay informed through official MBI announcements, which will be shared via mainstream media and the council’s social media channels.

“MBI extends its deepest appreciation to the people of Ipoh for their cooperation and support throughout the implementation of this project,” the statement added.

The repair works reflect MBI’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the city’s infrastructure at the highest standard, in line with the aspirations of ‘Ipoh Smart and Low Carbon City 2030’ and ‘Perak Sejahtera 2030’.
