IPOH, Oct 26 — The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graced the Perak State Deepavali Celebration 2025 held at Stadium Indera Mulia here last night.
Accompanying His Royal Highness were the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; the Raja DiHilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah; and the Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife.


The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, heads of state and federal departments, as well as more than 10,000 visitors from various communities who gathered to celebrate the colourful occasion.
In his speech, Saarani said Deepavali is a festival of lights that symbolises the triumph of good over evil and love over hatred.
“The light that is kindled represents awareness and humanity. In conjunction with Deepavali, let us rekindle the flame of compassion and humanity within our hearts,” he said.


Their Royal Highnesses also presented contributions to 70 orphans from several care centres, including the Nurul Iman Orphanage and Rumah Visi.
A variety of traditional delicacies such as vadai, jelebi, pani poori, falooda, idli, and paroota were served, adding to the vibrant and festive atmosphere.
