TANJUNG MALIM: Efforts to bring the police closer to the community continue as Taman Behrang 2020 here has been selected as the Adopted Neighborhood of the Women’s Police Squad (AMANITA) under the Perak Contingent of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

This marks the 11th police-adopted neighborhood in the state of Perak.

Taman Behrang 2020 was chosen based on population density, crime index rates, and most importantly, the activity of the residents’ association, which frequently collaborates effectively with the police.

AMANITA, consisting of female police officers, is an initiative introduced and implemented under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) in 2012.

The objective of the AMANITA Adopted Neighborhood is to strengthen cooperation between the police and the local community, particularly among women and housewives.

It also aims to increase police officers’ engagement with residents more closely, as well as to communicate with housewives in efforts to prevent crime.

Female police officers will collaborate with housewives to ensure activities are more focused and organized, while also interacting with them to gather information related to criminal activities.

This cooperation is expected to further assist the police in disseminating information related to crime and immoral activities.

Earlier, the official launch of the AMANITA Adopted Neighborhood was officiated by the Deputy Police Chief of Perak, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari.

Also held was a Town Hall Discussion on “Mental Health and Public Safety.”

This session served as a platform to foster two-way communication between the police and the community, as well as to share information
