IPOH: All levels of society are urged to play a vital role in preventing violence and protecting victims, particularly women.

This message was emphasized during the Perak State-Level Stop Violence Against Women Program 2025, held at the grounds of Mydin Meru Supermarket.

The high-impact social program was organized by the Perak State Department of Women’s Development to demonstrate the state government’s commitment to strengthening protection for women and increasing public understanding of issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination.

In her officiating speech, Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, wife of the Perak Chief Minister, stressed that efforts to combat violence against women require comprehensive cooperation between the government, implementing agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the general public.

She also urged every individual to become an agent of change by reporting any form of violence and providing moral support to victims so that they can recover and continue their lives with dignity.

Also present at the event was Dato’ Salbiah Mohamed, Perak State Executive Councillor for Women, Family, Community Welfare, and Cooperatives.

This program is part of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, which focuses on women’s social well-being and safety in building a prosperous, inclusive, and compassionate society.

The event also featured participation from various partner agencies and volunteers, offering talk sessions, awareness exhibitions, and legal and psychological counseling services to visitors.
