IPOH: A recreational park should provide basic facilities such as public toilets to make it convenient for visitors to enjoy their activities without having to go elsewhere.

This has been a problem for visitors to the Sungai Pinji Pond Recreational Park, where the public toilets have been locked and non-functional for a long time.
Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman, Chief Whip of the Ipoh City Council (MBI), said the park falls under the supervision of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS).

He noted complaints that the public toilets in the area are locked, preventing visitors, including families and joggers, from using the facilities.
“I urge JPS and MBI to take immediate action to maintain and reopen these public toilets so that they can be used by visitors to the recreational centre.
“Basic facilities like this must always be available for the comfort and safety of the community,” he said.
