IPOH: Perak Tengah District has a new District Officer following the appointment of Mohd Azhar Alias to the position, effective 19 November.
He replaces Zairina Noordin, who had held the responsibility for the past two years.
Mohd Azhar began his service in the Perak state government in 2006 as an Assistant Secretary in the Public Housing Division.
Throughout nearly two decades in the public service, he has held various key positions in state government departments.
Among them are Chief Assistant District Officer at the Kerian District and Land Office (2014), Chief Assistant District Officer at the Sungai Siput District and Land Office (2019), and Secretary of the Teluk Intan Municipal Council (2025).
His extensive experience in the public sector is seen as an asset that can bring fresh momentum and enhance service delivery efficiency in Perak Tengah.
Earlier, the appointment certificate presentation ceremony was officiated by the Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
In his speech, Saarani expressed hope that Mohd Azhar will carry this responsibility with full dedication and integrity for the development and well-being of the people of Perak Tengah.
