PARIT: Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, went to the ground to inspect the condition of flood victims housed at two Temporary Relief Centres (PPS) in the Perak Tengah district.
According to a statement from the Office of the Perak State Secretary, Saarani began his visit at the PPS SK Titi Gantung, which shelters 116 families involving 456 victims, before continuing to the PPS Layang-Layang Kiri, which houses 52 families involving 184 victims.


“Despite the heavy rain, the Menteri Besar continued to meet the victims, engaging with them directly.
“He assessed their needs and the support required, reflecting the state government’s concern in ensuring that aid is delivered swiftly and effectively,” the statement said.
Also present were the Perak State Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, who is also the Chairman of the Perak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN); and the Chairman of the State Committee on Education, Higher Education, Youth & Sports and State Assemblyman for Belanja, Datuk Khairudin Abu Hanipah.


According to the statement, as of today, a total of 45 Temporary Relief Centres (PPS) have been opened throughout Perak.
“These involve the districts of Larut Matang and Selama (3 PPS), Manjung (16 PPS), Perak Tengah (10 PPS), Bagan Datuk (4 PPS), Kuala Kangsar (1 PPS), Hilir Perak (10 PPS) and Muallim (2 PPS),” it said.
The statement added that the Perak State Government, through the relevant agencies, will continue close monitoring and provide immediate assistance to ensure the safety and welfare of all victims.
