IPOH: The media is not an entity that exists outside the system; rather, it is part of an ecosystem that helps strengthen governance to become more mature and effective.
The media also plays a role in the journey of the state government in realising the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda.

Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, said that media reports containing criticism, reprimands or sharp questions should not be viewed as attacks.
Instead, they should be seen as a mirror to improve weaknesses and refine administrative actions.
“Behind every piece of news that reaches the people, there are journalists, photographers, editors and broadcasters who work day and night, under time pressure, and even during disasters.
“They are the ones who have long worked tirelessly to write and publicise news about Perak and the initiatives undertaken by the state government for the people.
“Throughout the implementation of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda, media colleagues are not merely observers, but part of the state’s development ecosystem.
“Thank you for all the professionalism, firmness and honesty in delivering stories about Perak,” he said.

He made these remarks while delivering a speech at the Perak Sejahtera Perak 2030 Media Night held at Galasa Caldwell, Ipoh.
The event was held to appreciate the services and efforts of media practitioners in the state of Perak, who serve as a bridge between the government and the public.
At the ceremony, Saarani also presented awards to media agencies and practitioners across nine contested media award categories.

The article “Lasam, Perak’s First GBI Platinum Green Building” by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic Editor-in-Chief Rosli Mansor won third place in the Non-Malay Language Digital News category.
At the same event, Saarani also announced a special financial assistance of RM500 to media practitioners in the state of Perak as a token of appreciation.
