IPOH – The state of Perak is targeting 10.5 million domestic visitors and 1.2 million international arrivals in 2026, a key milestone in bolstering both the state’s economy and Malaysia’s national tourism campaign ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

To realise these goals, Perak’s Industries, Investment, Tourism and Corridor Development Committee Chairman, YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, urged the community, including local residents and tourism stakeholders, to act as “ambassadors of Perak” to ensure the success of the year‑long campaign.
“Perak is preparing a major celebration for VM2026, including simultaneous welcome events at 55 strategic locations across the country, covering air, land and sea entry points as symbols of Malaysia’s readiness to receive visitors from around the world,” Tuan Loh told reporters after welcoming arriving passengers from Singapore at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here today.

He said the entry‑point celebrations aim to ignite Malaysian hospitality and raise awareness of VM2026’s logo, theme, song and core objectives, while attracting local and international media coverage to amplify the campaign’s reach.
“The integrated celebration is also expected to foster strategic cooperation across sectors — including transportation, accommodation, food, cultural arts and security — to ensure visitors enjoy well‑planned and memorable experiences,” he added.

The state government also expressed its appreciation to YB Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, along with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and Tourism Malaysia for their steadfast support and collaboration in promoting Perak’s tourism assets on national and international platforms.
According to Tuan Loh, Perak is now fully prepared to welcome an increase in both domestic and international travellers, showcasing its natural beauty, UNESCO world heritage sites, rich cultural diversity and unique local gastronomy as core attractions.

Aligned with Perak’s inclusion in the Malaysia Tourism Events Calendar 2026, the state has planned a series of festivals and internationally‑oriented exhibitions designed to ensure the coming year is vibrant and impactful for tourism and the state’s economy.
With coordinated entry celebrations, broad stakeholder cooperation and strong community support, Perak is confident it can spotlight the state’s charm to the world and further strengthen Malaysia’s position as a leading global tourism destination throughout 2026.
