IPOH: The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Perak, Suhaimi Abu Hassan Shari, has emphasised his commitment to strengthening governance and operational efficiency to drive the state’s tourism sector in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY 2026).
Suhaimi made the remarks during the Networking Session with Tourism Industry Players at 1969 D’ D’Kelly Hotel, which was also attended by Perak State Committee Chairman for Industry, Investment, Tourism and Corridor Development, YB Loh Sze Yee and Tourism Perak Board Chairman, Dato’ Mohd Kamil Shafie.


He expressed his gratitude to the state government and the board for the trust placed in him, noting that his appointment comes at a crucial time as tourism is recognised as a key driver of the state’s economy.
Suhaimi said his focus will be on transforming Tourism Perak into an efficient and impactful implementing agency through strong governance, effective operations, and coordinated tourism promotion initiatives.
He stressed that the success of the state’s tourism sector requires close collaboration between the government, the board, industry players, local authorities, and the community, in line with an inclusive approach he plans to continue.
The CEO called on all Tourism Perak staff and industry partners to work together in advancing the state’s tourism agenda, confident that the support of all stakeholders can elevate Perak’s tourism sector to new heights ahead of VMY 2026.
