IPOH – The Perak state government has allocated RM2.336 million to strengthen education empowerment programmes through a strategic collaboration between Yayasan Perak and the Perak State Education Department (JPN) throughout this year.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the collaborative approach enables education interventions to be implemented in a more focused and effective manner at the school level.
According to him, a range of education empowerment programmes involving tens of thousands of students from hundreds of schools have been carried out, covering the Learning Sector, Student Development Sector, and Islamic Education Sector.
“Among the key initiatives is the Perak One Third High Programme, which involves 28,086 SPM 2025 candidates from 255 schools, focusing on academic intervention, support for students eligible for certification, and efforts to improve the pass rate,” he said here.
Earlier, Saarani witnessed the mock cheque presentation between Yayasan Perak and the Perak Education Department at the Foyer of the Menteri Besar’s Office, presented by Yayasan Perak General Manager Dr Nasreen Khanum Nawab Zadah Khan to State Education Director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar.
In addition, other programs, such as Propulih and Propulih 2.0 (benefiting more than 3,600 students), the Red Flag Dropout Risk Programme (RFRC), involving 7,555 students, as well as the Islamic Education Excellence Programme, benefiting 26,363 students, have also been implemented in support of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 aspiration.
