IPOH: A total of 34,913 early payers of the 2026 Assessment Tax Bill have been recorded as of 14 January, with total collections amounting to RM13.83 million.

The figure reflects a high level of awareness and strong support among city residents towards efforts to develop and enhance the city.

Ipoh Mayor, Zamakhshari Hanipah, said the achievement was announced in conjunction with the Assessment Tax Lucky Draw Session for the November and December 2025 editions, organised as a token of appreciation for early payers who had settled their annual tax bills in full without any arrears.

According to him, for the said edition, Ipoh City Council (MBI) offered two main prizes in the form of AX200S and Nova 160 scooter motorcycles, with a total prize value of RM16,000, to be won by two lucky participants.

He added that the monthly lucky draw programme was implemented to encourage early payment of assessment taxes, which was opened from 1 November to 31 December 2025, through payment counters and online platforms.

He further explained that the winners of the November and December draws would also be eligible to participate in the 2026 Grand Assessment Tax Lucky Draw, to be held after the payment period ends on 28 February 2026.

MBI has called upon city residents who have yet to settle their assessment tax payments to do so promptly in order to stand a chance of winning the grand prize, scheduled for March 2026.
